Dreamcatcher Giveaway

dreamcatcher giveaway Well I have been wanting to do a giveaway for a really long time, but am actually glad I waited til now. I was trying to think of what would make me happiest to create for you and decided to create a “dreamcatcher” just for this. Now couldn’t be a better time with the New Year just around the corner.

A “New Year” is our chance to start fresh with new dreams, new beginnings, new ideas, new memories, new accomplishments, new loves and infinite possibilities.

I have so many things that I want to accomplish this coming year and can’t wait for the new year to begin. This past year has been a year of a lot of growth both for myself and for my business. I have learned to trust myself and my choices, that my faith will always remain strong, that no matter what comes your way you can never stop believing in yourself and your dreams. That the kindness of others both ones that I have met and have not can make a huge impact in your heart.

Always know that each new day is the start of something beautiful.

Choose to live your life…one dream at a time.

About the Dreamcatcher

I created this dreamcatcher with peaceful and encouraging intentions. It is said that good dreams will pass through the catcher and down the strands and feathers onto you as you sleep.I hope this in some way encourages you to dream and to follow your dreams no matter how big or small.

I created this using a vintage crochet piece as the inspiration. The fringe and outer edge of the loop are made from torn strips of linen and cotton. Linen feathers hang on strands of floss with clear crystals and rhinestones that twinkle when the light hits them. There are four strands of clear crystals with tiny rhinestone hanging from each. Five fabric roses on the bottom and three on top and a bit of rhinestone and crystals added to the top for a bit more sparkle. I added a rhinestone to the center in hopes to keep your dreams alive with beauty. The piece is approximately 35″ in length, the loop measures 11″ around.

Live in the beauty of the dreams you seek.

In dreams we enter a world that is entirely our own.

For my 44th birthday in October, I gave myself hope. I wrote down what I wanted, what I had, acknowledged gratitude for my blessings I overlooked. I wrote down my fears, my faults and my downfalls. Then I wrote down all my strengths and ways to use them toward my Life Goals. Then I released it to the Universe and got busy living my life, making memories with purpose. It was a good day. Today my husband was laid off and I’ve been wallowing in worry. Thank you for making me remember October 11th, 2013. I needed it.

Brenda that sounds like the best gift that you could ever give yourself. Keep those positive things in your mind and try not to worry. I know it’s easier said than done, but when you think about it, things always have a way of working themselves out when we keep our faith and stay positive. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Blessings to you both.

Last year I was going thru a hard time, as I was unemployed, but I got some friends together for my birthday and it was really good to have my friends around for support. Sadly, I am unemployed again and my birthday is fast approaching….so will need to get together some friends again.

Contest- best birthday ever – my daughter was around 12 at the time and we had a girl’s day. We went to a historic small town, strolled through the square’s stores, enjoyed their Festival of Trees (Christmas season), and ate at a little cafe. Took plenty of pictures.

The best thing I ever did for myself on my birthday was to jump on a train and head to Paris for the day, (at the time I was living in London so I went by Eurostar), I went alone and and had such an amazing time (it was my first time). I went up the Eiffel Tower and had a thoroughly wonderful day! It was a very Happy Birthday indeed. :-)

I shared my birthday with my partner and this was something very special and we both wanted to make this day special for each other…. So we both arranged surprise gatherings for each other in separate cities so with a lot of persuasion I let Martin indulge me and had my special birthday with all my special friends and was made to feel the centre of attention, I was made to feel like the bell of the ball and for once put my birthday first. We did his the evening after x

    Hello!

I hope you are recovering nicely!

I’ll try to make this brief. Wink.

The past few years (& still counting) have been filled with much sorrow & loss. My faithful dog of 17.5 years passed away in my arms, I had two car accidents (car lifted off the ground on both) in two months, my father was diagnosed & survived a rare disease with chemo treatment only later to be diagnosed with end stage renal failure, endure thrice weekly dialysis, have a debilitating stroke, pacemaker implanted, two amputations & be entirely bedridden & my mother was also diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, Shingles, became bedridden & passed a year ago, my husband filed for bankruptcy, we divorced & I had to send our daughter away to school because I could not provide the best for her given my circumstances as an only child, & mother working long days & caring for everyone without any help. Lastly, I was forced to walk away from a job & career of 14 years because of all of the stress & resulting discrimation towards me.

My gift to me was realizing I was almost completely overwhelmed, exhausted & almost broken, forgiving myself for not being able to “do it all” & be present 100% while my mother was on hospice, & finally for having the courage to walk away from an unappreciative & disrespecting manger & job in order to put my health & self care at the forefront so that I could better care for others. I took myself to grief counseling & spent my 50th on a massage table (occasionally sobbing) getting a facial & a massage!!!

It is often so hard to admit we need help & to put ourselves first. I did it loud & proud!

I have celebrated many birthdays in special ways over the past 65 years! I have experienced birthday miracles, loving friendships, family surprises even the birth of our youngest daughter forty years ago. I believe birthdays are a gift from God! Each year I remember all that has taken place in my life and thank God that I am still able to love Him another day and be loved!
A few years ago my four granddaughters who live close asked me to join them for “A Day with Grammie”. They were all teenagers and first took me to my favorite breakfast cafe then we were off to walk the old town district of a small town close to where we live. The town is full of cute little shops that we wondered in and out of enjoying all the finery, querky things and vintage goods. We took many pictures doing silly things. The cutest little ceramic shop inside a coffee bar and bakery was the hit of the day! We all sat at a large table and painted small items that we choose for each other and sipped cocoa and nibbled warm cookies. When the day ended I knew that it would always be a very memerable day for this grandma!

The best thing I do for me on my birthday is to grow older with grace and thankfulness. I lost both my parents when they were very young and every year I celebrate the gift of another year of life! Life is worth living no matter how old you get. Live life like it was your last day on earth. Tell your friends and family how much you love and care for them. Celebrate life everyday and especially on your Birthday!!!!

The best thing I ever did on my birthday was to decide to give myself the entire day. So I went out for brunch, then watched a feel-good movie in the afternoon. I read Gatsby in the evening. I would have wanted to play with my grandchildren in the evening, but I live thousands of miles from them.

The best thing I did for myself on my birthday…..
My husband and I have such crazy work schedules we don’t get a lot of time together nor do we see family very often. My job moved us away from everybody and we live by ourselves in Columbia, SC. Since I hadn’t seen my mother in 3 years, this past September, Sean and I took a small vacation to Florida where my mom lives and spent a long weekend with her. I absolutely love seeing other people smile so with her birthday just a week after mine, it was a real treat for the both of us to spend quality time together; so my best birthday was a long overdue “mommy- daughter” date <3
~happy (belated) birthday! Hope your day was as special as mine!

The best thing I did for myself on my birthday was to show my 2 daughters that it is never to late to follow your dreams and I went back to school to finish my nursing degree. I work full time and a mother of two beautiful girls. I was going to wait until they were a little older but 2 years ago I decided why not…..so I enrolled back into college and I am almost done. My girls are my inspiration and personal cheering squad. My days are long but it will all be worth it in the end! And when my oldest told me she was proud of me and wrote her English paper on me for “The One Person That Has Inspired You The Most”, I knew I was making a difference. When I saw your dream catcher my first thought was them…..delicate beauty!

Hopefully this is where I leave my dream catcher comment.. my birthday last year was one of the most memorable for me. The day was spent crying and sobbing alone. I sat and wondered why is the day I was brought to earth such a sad one. It was then that I drove my self up to what we call here in Tennessee top of the world. It was then above the not so important world of material things that I realized a birthday is not celebrated with things.. but with me, myself, and I ! It was the best gift I ever gave my self. .because I realized that I was filled with gifts. With my birthday right around the corner I will continue this birthday with the same thankful heart…and celebrate with my creative gifts to help inspire others to find theirs

    with new beginnings. .

Ahhhh the magic of a dream catcher. So beautiful, so enchanting, so calming . :-)
On my 50th birthday I decided I needed to spend it by myself. No hubby, no kids, no good friends, just me. I wasn’t exactly sure how I was feeling. Was I feeling depressed? Did turning 50, now half a century, mean that the rest of my life would be on a downhill spiral? I needed time to reflect . To think about how my life had been and where it was headed. It would take hours for me to reveal all the thoughts that were flying around in my head. To make a very long story short, I realized turning 50 was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I grew up, I supported a family, I raised 3 beautiful children, and I have taken care if my aging parents. But most of all I have instilled love, faithfulness, integrity and honesty into my offsprings. It may have taken me 50 years to get to this place but its been the best 50 years!! I would not change a thing. So at the end of my beautiful day alone, happy birthday to me!! I gave myself a wonderful present. And that was ME time and I enjoyed every second. <3

The most wonderful thing I did for myself on my birthday was to take 3 of my sisters to the Mirbeau Inn & Spa in Skaneateles, New York for an incredible dream weekend. We each had a massage/spa treatment of our choice, a fabulous dinner, and spent the night in the most beautiful room complete with turn downs that included foot warmers, truffles and Pierre water. I gave each sister a $100 gift card to the spa shop where they had a ball trying to decide what to get.
This was my treat (I had to save for a year to be able to afford this), but it was so worth it! I am the youngest of 9 children ( now 61 years young) so as you might imagine there was no pampering or extras when we were growing up. We had a lot of love and fun family times though. This special birthday weekend was the best gift I ever gave myself. My sisters were glowing and smiling from ear to ear…… It was scrumptious!
Hope your birthday was happy and full of love.

Crunch time between that and my husbands dinner plans for us..we tried everything to fix…fyi…do not apply whitening paste to recently dyed/waxed brows–FIRE! Lol. So…the best we could do…we laughed the entire way to dinner. I decided that was a sign of my new age… Happy birthday to you—may your new year be filled with all things fabulous…and only the loveliest of brow jobs!

We don’t have a whole lot of money, but we saved up a bit for this trip. The best part about it is that we took our time, stopped whenever we saw something interesting, and just found spontaneous fun and adventure at every turn! I have been a full time care giver to both my elderly, invalid parents since 2006. My dad was wheelchair bound, had COPD and blind. He passed away May 2012. My mother had a stroke May 2011, had brain surgery Feb. 2012 and another stroke Sept. 2012. I had to use a hoyer lift to transfer her. I lost her Mar. 2013. There were times I didn’t know if I could get through another day. But each day, I awoke, put my faith and trust in God that he would he would get us through another day. After losing mother in March, when my birthday rolled around in May, a friend suggested I should treat myself to a massage. So for my 56th birthday, I had a massage. It really helped. I still miss them terribly, but I know they want me to reclaim my life and to go after my dreams that had been put on hold. Thank you for your blog and the give away.
