I have always loved the beauty of exposed brick in pretty much every room and have been obsessing over it so much lately that I thought I should do a post on a few gorgeous spaces. I mean look at this most gorgeous bathroom. I always wonder if I would be able to paint over exposed brick, but have to say it was the right choice here. This white bathroom is serene and elegant.
I think I am in love with every single thing in this shop. Absolutely beautiful. All of the weathered whites are right at home against this beautiful brick. I think I could spend hours here browsing through all of these wonderful finds.
I’ve recently shared this amazing space on my facbeook, but had to share again with you all here. It would be amazing to have this space to decorate. So many possibilities here. The brick is stunning as are the columns. And all of this light, just beautiful.
I know brick isn’t for everyone but look how much warmth and character it brings to this room. I love the neutral tones on this brick in particular.
This entry way is amazing. The colors, the weathered elegance…just so inviting. The brick and the planked flooring has such a beautiful contrast.
This is so so charming. Just a little peek of brick just pops off of the white wall and shelving. It’s just the right amount of brick to add a bit of character. Am loving the door to, can’t not love a charming weathered door.
Just stunning. I love it all. The perfect blend of texture and color. A bit of brick to add character to a newer space. Love the arch and lighter wash on the brick.
I have always loved brick against a white background. This has always been one of my favorite rooms. The colors are just perfect for me. It’s super charming and elegant.
Look at this gorgeous fireplace. The brick insert just makes all of those gorgeous details on the fireplace pop.
These bedrooms are just gorgeous. I would love to be able to add a bit of brink to the wall behind my bed. I am only renting, but there are ways around that. There are so many ways to create the look of brick without having to buy the real thing. Lowes and other home improvement stores sell faux brick panels that you can easily put up temporarily. Some of these aren’t so realistic looking but adding a bit of a wash over the panels would make it look more authentic.
I love that they painted the brick here as well. The neutral palette is pretty and inviting.
So pretty.
I would love to hear if any of you have exposed brick in your home? What room would you most love to add a bit of brick to if you could?
Lovely blog. although lots of light colors, the rooms have great interest with the use of textures and differing tones.
Thank you very much and yep there are lots of neutral colors here ♥
It’s enough to inspire me to brick a wall.
Lovely!
Thank you very much! Right! Every time I look at these pics it makes me want to add one somewhere. I am only renting right now so think I am going to do the faux brick paneling for now. I know it’s not the same, but really want to add it somewhere. You will have to keep us posted if you add some to your space.
I too love exposed brick! My husband is planning to expose the old chimney in our dining room one of these days. I know it will add so much charm. That one room that you said has always been one of your favorites (with the dark floors) is one of mine too! Would love to live there
Alice, hello! Oooh that sounds wonderful! You will have to keep after your hubby for that one. I love to see a chimney especially in the dining room, so cozy. Your home is so charming and I just love looking at all of the pics you share. Thanks so much for stopping by…it was so nice to hear from you!
I have a small section of exposed brick in my home which has been painted grey prior to me moving in. I rent and if it was up to me I would have not painted the brick at all. The father away you stand from the painted brick, it ends up looking more like blocks of concrete. I don’t mind the look of that either. It still adds a bit of character to my home. Thanks for sharing such great pics!
Paulina,
Your wall sounds charming even though it has been painted. I rent as well right now and am always looking for ways to add in a bit of character without making huge changes. It’s a bit more of a challenge but always fun.
Oh these photos bring back so many memories of a great older friend. We worked in a furniture store together and she rented the upstairs of an old downtown building to live in so she could walk to work. All of your photos are very similar. We had soooooooo much fun decorating and reviving that place. Some areas were aqua and purple, just stunning. Thanks for the fun.
I love the photos of the different effects of painted brick. Where can I get instructions on how to paint brick with a similar patina finish?
Melissa,
Thanks so much for stopping in! I’d be happy to find you some tutorials on this.
