Things To Do…Get Organized this 2015!

Well first off…Happy New Year to you all! Can you believe we are saying this again, already!?! I have been in a full force “attack mode”in wanting to get things accomplished this year. For those of you that know me, know that I was in an accident at the very end of 2013 and without going into too much detail, it pretty much set me back on all of the things that I had wanted to accomplish last year, but that’s ok, this is a “New Year” and I/we get to start fresh! I’ll admit I spent a few minutes this morning beating myself up over not reaching any of those goals I set last year, but life sometimes has a way of stepping in and setting us on a new course and you know what, that’s ok! Baby steps, lots and lots of baby steps. So instead of setting too many huge goals for the entire year, I am going to set small daily goals that are more attainable.

I decided to create a cute little “THINGS TO DO” list for me and for you (if you choose) to use in helping you with your daily or weekly goals. I’m still old school and like to write things down. I like to see them on an actual piece of paper, memo board or chalk board. The more I see it, the more I am apt to get it done. Are you guys like that, or are you ok with adding your To Do’s on a phone or computer?

Feel free to print this (For Personal Use Only) use as single sheets, place in a notebook or add it to a frame like you see here. I like the way it looks in a frame. You can use Dry Erase markers or a regular marker. If you choose to use a regular marker or paint pen, you will have to use alcohol or nail polish remover to clean off the glass. Pretty & Practical…my two favorite things and a great way to motivate me/you to set those daily goals!

I went out a bought a few more things to help me jump start my organizing spree! I love this simple 2015 Planner from the Cambridge Edition at Target. I like that it’s flexible and will fit in my purse. It has a lot of space on the inside for writing down all of my info and has pretty little gold details (my favorite). I’ve kind of been on a gold kick lately and love that there are so many pretty things with lots of gold accents in the stores. Loving this little journal from Michaels that I found in the $1.50 section. Can’t beat that, a cute little journal for $1.50!

My first tackle is my home office. I took over the space as my “empty nest” project when my daughter went off to college last Fall. I haven’t had time to get in there and do much but am putting that first on my “to do list”. I look forward to sharing the before and after photos with you once I get it complete (or at least part way done).

Hoping you are able to use this printable for your daily and weekly goals! Feel free to share it with anyone you know that could use this. Keep in touch and let me know how your organization is going!

Until next time…Happy Organizing!

Yes, getting organized is always first on my list, too. At the end of 2013 I bought my cottage a little diary, lots of empty lines in it to help me get organized. I have a 30 plus year history of every January going through every drawer, closet, cupboard, etc. in the house to return all the items in them to their PROPER location (it’s amazing what I find in the strangest places). Anyway, I actually carried out my plan with the little diary….I went into every room and noted on its own line every thing that I felt needed to be done in that room. Throughout 2014 I was able to cross off a bunch of projects. I just found the little diary and went through it again. Things not done got the notation CF—> (carry forward to next year) As soon as I get the drawers, cupboards, closets done I’ll sit in each room and again write down the projects for 2015. For some of the completed items I marked down the cost. This little diary is helping me be organized for the house! For the rest of life, I schedule to-do stuff on my phone. Good luck and please share whatever plan you come up with!

      Liz,

Hello and good morning! Wow, you truly are an organinzational inspiration! I like that you are so detailed and add in pricing. That’s a nice thing to see especially after months or even a year go by. I like things to be very organized but I don’t always have the time and it can be very frustrating so I am always looking at new ways to tackle my projects and just day to day things. I do add things on my phone, especially appointments, but for everything else I think I like to see them on paper. Thank you so much for sharing all of your tips…feel free to stop in at any time to share with us and I will do the same!

      Hugs,

The prettiest “to-do” list I’ve seen! Thank you for sharing. I was just thinking today along the lines of baby steps too… that is life! I have to make myself think about what I’ve accomplished instead of beating myself up for what I’ve not done! It’s a change in perspective – one I’ll probably always have to work at! Glad you are feeling better this year – may it be your best yet… Blessings, Julie (LittleFarmstead.com)
