about me page 2000

Hello and Welcome! Out of all the beautiful blogs out there, I’m so happy you found your way to mine! My blog is still a work in progress, so pardon the dust and my never ending need to tweak all the little details.  I am hoping to grow my blog into a valuable resource, filled with tutorials, practical advice, encouragement and hopefully lots of laughs along the way. I am hoping to show you that decorating in a neutral palette is not only calming and beautiful, but that you can raise a family and little furry friends in the middle of it.

My name is Tammy Serrano, I am a mom of three wonderful children, an adorable little dog and cat, and we live in a little Spanish style cottage in south Florida.  The company I worked for couple of years ago went out of business and I made the decision to stay at home with my little one for as long as I possibly could. I decided to open up an online shop “Cloth & Patina” both as a way to make a little income and share in the things that bring me joy. I like to create pretty things, with just a bit of elegance. Thinking we all need a bit of that every now and then right. I am drawn to a neutral palette with lots of weathered woods and patina, no new woods or metals here. I am a strong believer in hard work, perseverance and a passion for all that you do.

I was a little reluctant to start my blog until we settled into a new place of our own, but felt it’s time to stop being so finicky and just do it. My kids and me moved about an hour north of our home of twenty three years to be closer to my daughter’s school, a better area, and better schools for my little one. We went from a much larger home to a small little space about half the size. It has been a challenge to go from a larger space and owning your own home to a tiny space that we rent. There certainly are a lot of limits in renting, but found I just got more creative in the ways to pretty up those things I can’t change.

Hoping you will enjoy following me on my journey of making a rented home as personal and pretty as possible.

Please pardon the dust as I am in the process of updating and merging my blog and website. Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you just feel like stopping in to say hi!

I follow you on etsy (I have an etsy shop too) and am glad I found my way to your blog via another friend’s blog! I decorate in a faded white palette so I find beautiful inspiration here. ASCP French Linen and Pure White are my favorites and I have been painting many pieces of furniture in them since September. I have yet to try the Old White…that is next. Your home is calm loveliness.

I just found you and enjoyed reading your story. I am moving to Vero Beach very soon coming from up North. I will want to have a more beachy style of decorating and looking at your blog makes me feel better about the move. The style of homes are so much different there.

      Well welcome to Florida (soon),

Thank you so much for all of your sweet words and am happy that you found a little inspiration! I love Vero Beach and think you will too. Where from up north are you moving from? It is a nice beach town with a lot to do. I had family that lived there for many years and we still travel up there for my son’s baseball. We will be there in Dodgertown at the end of this month for his baseball tournament. Always look forward to going up. Let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything I can help you with.
